Natalia Bogdanova is a professional chamber music soloist and piano teacher. Classical music is her passion.

Natalia started playing piano at the age of five. A few years later she entered a piano class at the Yuzno-Sakhalinsk School of Music, Russia. These seven years of music education also included music history, music theory and singing in a children choir.

At the age of 15, she was admitted to the Yuzno-Sakhalinsk Music College, where she successfully studied classical piano, concentrating her attention on piano teaching aspects, methods and performance as a piano soloist. In the year of 1984 (the third year of college) as a solo performer Mrs Bogdanova participated in Far Eastern Competition of Young Performers (piano) in Vladivostok, Russia and there she won the Public Award of Young Concert Artists.  

After graduation in 1985, holding Piano Teacher and Accompanist diploma, Natalia acted as an accompanist and teacher in Pedagogical College, working as accompanist in choir conductor’s class and as a performer in many choral, vocal and violin/cello concerts.

From 1987 Natalia continued her education as a pianist in St-Petersburg (Leningrad) Conservatory, named by Rimsky-Korsakov and in 1993 graduated with a Master degree in Music. (www.conservatory.ru)

In 1994 Mrs Bogdanova left Russia and moved to Sweden where she worked in Opera House (www.opera.se), Ballet Academy and Dansforum as a ballet accompanist in Gothenburg.

From 1996 till 2002 Mrs Bogdanova was living in Lund (South of Sweden) and working in Malmo Music Theatre as a musician of the symphony orchestra and performed the first Swedish rock opera, Kristina from Duvemala, written by former ABBA members Benny Andersson and Bjorn Ulvaeus (www.duvemala.com/eng). Also as a performer Natalia was working with Lyssa Davidson (piano-cello duet), and as pianist and organ performer in Kirsaberg Church, Sweden, organized several workshops and concerts for weekends.

Since 2003 Natalia has been living in Ottawa. As a page-turner she has been working with 10th and 11th Chamber Music Festival, in Ottawa. During 2003-2004 she created and established a non-for-profit organization World of Fairy Tales festival. Successful event took place under the umbrella of the Canadian Tulip festival in May ( Article in "Ottawa Citizen" ). In October 2004 as a Managing Director Mrs Bogdanova successfully participated in organizing reception of the season opening concert by the Ottawa Symphony Orchestra.

Later in 2004 she started her own pedagogical career as well. Mrs Bogdanova builds her programs on the best European and Russian academic traditions, inculcating not only a love of music but also aesthetic and humanitarian values. She emphasizes the development of student's musical abilities through the well thought-out exercises and acquitting her students with the best examples of musical literature. Also Mrs Bogdanova pays very much attention for piano technique development, position of the hands and articulation.

Ms Bogdanova is highly qualified classical music specialist and freelance music writer. Her articles cover piano concerts, ballet performances, and festivals at the National Arts Centre, National Gallery and other cultural events in Ottawa and published across Canada and Russia in newspapers and magazines such as
